25 Powerful Prayers for Forgiveness of Sins and Others

As Christians, we are called to be more Christ like. Jesus himself sacrificed his life on the cross in order to forgive all of mankind for their sins. It is only righteous for us to also forgive one another for our sins and demonstrate the grace that God has so generously provided us with. These powerful prayers for forgiveness of sins and others will help to put your heart at rest.

Prayer #1

Lord God,
I trust in you today.
I thank you that you keep turning the pages of my life. Everyday you give me a new beginning.
Help me to ride each new wave of temptation, and to overcome the things that can drag my life down. As I look to you I declare your promise of freedom over my life.
Amen.

Prayer #2

Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive today, and hears my pray. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. Amen.

Prayer #3

Father, I need your help and your insights. Today I have gained a better understanding of forgiving others and with your help, I fully forgive from my heart. Although I have been sinned against, I know I myself have sinned against others. You have freely forgiven me, so I forgive them as well. Father, I ask you to forgive me for hurting others out of my own hurt and to heal my relationships with others. I pray all of this in Jesus’ precious name and by whom all forgiveness and healing was made possible.

Prayer #4

I am lost at this moment in my life. I have gone down the wrong road, and I am having a difficult time getting back to where I need to be. I want to do the right thing and keep true to myself, but it’s very hard to fight the demons that have pulled me back down. I need You, my precious Lord, to help get back on the right path and to stay away from this destructive life that I feel I am leading. I know I am the only one to blame for my actions. But I know if You will give me the courage, strength, and will to walk away, I can make it through with my eyes on You.

Prayer #5

Lord, you promised that when I seek You with all our heart, I will find You. I seek only after You. I ask that you still my troubled heart, calm my wayward mind, as I seek only after You. I’m never going to be able to figure this out on my own, and right now I’m leaning heavily on You. I give you all the anxieties and fears I feel inside, and I release them all to You. I know You will grant forgiveness of my sins. I ask that you please so, as I am truly sorry for the wrong I’ve done in my life. I open up my life so that it becomes like an open book before You. Amen

Prayer #6

Lord, I’m in that place again
On my knees
Laying my life out before You
Thank you that on the cross you cried
“It is finished”
You have done it
Forgiveness is complete
I can live forever in Your grace
Forever in Your love
So I ask now for Your forgiveness
For the wrongs that I have done
And the things that I have neglected
I ask for Your forgiveness
For the people I have hurt along the way
And those who I have failed to love as You love
I ask for Your forgiveness
I receive Your forgiveness
And resolve in my heart
That with Your strength
I determine not to make these errors again
I receive Your forgiveness
And by the power of Your Holy Spirit
I walk away from everything I know to be wrong
And embrace everything I know about You
For the kingdom, the power and the glory
Are always and forever Yours
Amen

Prayer #10

Holy Lord,
I can’t seem to shake the harm that’s been done to me off my shoulders. I am wallowing in the anger I feel. Lord, I shouldn’t think the vengeful thoughts that I have. You have called me to forgive every single person that wrongs me. I need Your strength to overcome these trespasses against me. Father, I want to forgive these people. Please cast the devil’s evil ways from me. I want to look at these people and see lost souls that need You. I want to forgive them completely so that You can use me however You wish, to be Jesus to them. Father, I am done with holding these grudges! Forgive me for holding on to them. Prayer #11

Father in heaven,
My heart grieves for those close to me that do not want to know You. They are lost souls wandering wherever the devil takes them. They are fulfilling their own desires of the flesh instead of yearning for the life that You give. Father, use me or anyone that You please to show Christ-like love to them. Father, I love these men and women and to think of them in eternal torment is tormenting me! I pray that the seeds that are planted in them Lord will be grown by You. You make miracles happen every day and I pray that You make one today in the lives of the lost. I praise Your Holy Name! Amen

Prayer #12

Almighty God, our heavenly Father:
We have sinned against you,
through our own fault,
in thought, and word, and deed,
and in what we have left undone.
For the sake of your Son our Lord Jesus Christ,
forgive us all our offenses;
and grant that we may serve you
in newness of life,
to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Prayer #13

Dear Lord,
I pray for pastors around the world. If there is any un-confessed sin active in their lives, I pray that You would bring them to the deepest valleys if that is what it takes to get them back on the narrow path. We need strong pastors leading our congregations. I pray that You would use the people closest to their pastors to keep them accountable, Lord. Accountability is a must in every Christian’s life. I thank you for our pastors, Lord, for they have a huge role to play here on earth. They have many big responsibilities and I am so grateful that they accept the challenges of pastoring. I love You, Lord! Amen

Prayer #14

O Lord God almighty, who pardons guilty men and has no pleasure in the death of a sinner: to you, O Lord, I stretch forth the hands of my heart and I implore of you forgiveness for all my unlawful deeds, albeit unworthy. I ask you to keep my mind from the operations of the enemy, my eyes that they do not look incontinently, my ears that they do not listen to vanities, my hands from the service of hateful things, and my reins that they be moved in you, so that I may be entirely yours. And grant unto me the gift of your divine mysteries, O Christ our Lord and our God, forever. Amen.

Prayer #15

Your death, O Lord, we commemorate, and your resurrection we confess, and your second coming we look for; and we ask of you mercy and compassion and we implore the forgiveness of sins. Your mercies be upon us all.

Prayer #16

Father, today I ask forgiveness of all the negative and harmful words I have spoken about myself. I do not want to abuse myself in such a way again. Transform my thoughts and let me understand how marvelously you made me. Change my habits so I use my tongue to speak hope and favor upon my life. In Jesus’ name.

Prayer #17

Lord, I bring to mind (name)
I bring him/her before You.
I feel hurt by them
Right now I confess any negative feelings I have about them
I forgive the wrongs they have done towards me
For any deliberate or unintentional things they have done
That have caused me pain
In the best way that I know how, I fully forgive them.
I release them to You.
Now that I have forgiven (name)
I choose not to hold any grudges towards him/her
Thank you that as I am praying now
You are freeing my inner world to live again
Free from resentment, pain and bitterness
Filled with joy, freedom and love.
Amen

Prayer #18

Father, bless me with the wonderful power of forgiveness, give me the grace to unconditionally forgive those who have done me wrong.
Give me the strength to let go of ill-will, the strength to forgive myself of my own failings and sins, knowing that you have already forgiven me.

Free me of all anger, bitterness, hate, and unforgiveness. In the Lord’s name I pray, Amen.

Prayer #19

Lord, just as You so generously forgive me, help me also to forgive others and not keep any form of hate, anger or revenge within my mind. Bestow the power of love upon us all and just as I forgive so too would everyone. In our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ’ s name I pray Amen.

Prayer #20

At this time, I humbly ask Your forgiveness for all my sins. Lord, I ask for wisdom, kindness and endurance. Lead me so that I would not indulge in these sinful acts again.

Prayer #21

Oh Heavenly and Gracious Father, I come before you as a humble servant, thanking You for yet another day of health and strength, for peace of mind, love, and for everything that You have generously bestowed upon me.

Prayer #22

Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept you out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faith I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen.

Prayer #23

Lord, today was not a good day for how I treated others. I know I need to apologize. I know that I did that person wrong. I have no excuse for my bad behavior. I have no good reason for harming them. I pray that you place forgiveness on their heart. Mostly, though, I pray that you give them peace for when I do apologize.
I pray that I can make the situation right for them and that I don’t give them the impression that this is normal behavior for people who love you, Lord. I know you ask that our behavior is a light unto others, and my behavior certainly was not. Lord, I ask that you give us both the strength to get through this situation and come out the other side better and more in love with you than before. In your name, Amen.

Prayer #24

Lord, I am angry. I am hurt. This person did this thing to me, and I cannot imagine why. I feel so betrayed, and I know you say that I should forgive them, but I don’t know how. I just don’t know how to get over these emotions. How do you do it? How to you constantly forgive us when we screw up and hurt you? Lord, I ask that you give me the strength to forgive.
I ask that you place on my heart a spirit of forgiveness. I know this person said they were sorry. They know what they did was wrong. I may never forget what they did, and I’m sure our relationship will never be the same, but I don’t want to live with this burden of anger and hatred any longer. Lord, I want to forgive. Please, Lord, help my heart and mind embrace it. In your name, Amen.

Prayer #25

Lord, please forgive me for what I have done to you. I offer up this forgiveness prayer in hopes that you will look at my mistakes and know that I did not mean to hurt you. I know you know I’m not perfect. I know that what I did went against you, but I hope that you will forgive me, just as you forgive others like me. I will try, Lord, to change. I will make every attempt to not give into temptation again.
I know that you are the most important thing in my life, Lord, and I know that what I did was disappointing. I ask, God, that you provide me with guidance in the future. I ask for the discerning ear and open heart to hear and feel what you are telling me to do. I pray that I will have the understanding to remember this time and that you give me the strength to go in a different direction. Lord, thank you for all you do for me. I pray that you pour your grace upon me. In your name, Amen.

11 KINDS OF PREACHERS

11 Kinds of Preacher: Which One Are You? By Peter Mead - May 24, 2016 Share on Facebook Share on Pinterest The fourth world. That’s what Haddon Robinson called it. He took John Stott’s two worlds of preaching—the world of the Bible and the world of the contemporary listener’s culture, and he added two more. First, the specific culture of the local congregation (which may differ sharply from the contemporary culture in general). Then, the fourth world—the inner world of the preacher. We have to understand all four worlds to preach effectively. I’d like to probe that fourth world in respect to personality types. Now I know these are controversial. There are those in favor and those against. There are advocates for this taxonomy and those pushing for another. Some oppose them altogether. Some people refuse to be labeled (perhaps a personality thing); others love it (ditto). I’ll let you chase the type tests and theoretical discussions else
